Kangiri FCS Coffee
From the fertile slopes of the Aberdare Mountain range in Muranga County, Kenya, comes a coffee that embodies excellence and tradition. Produced by the Kangiri Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) and processed at the esteemed Kanguya Factory, this washed coffee is crafted with precision and care.
At an altitude of 1652 meters, the region’s clay loam soil, pristine waters of the Irati River, and ideal climate create the perfect environment for exceptional coffee. Since its founding in 1969, Kangiri FCS has grown to include 414 dedicated farmers and five factories, each committed to producing high-quality beans.
The process is meticulous: hand-picked cherries are carefully sorted, pulped, and fermented before being washed and graded. The parchment is then sun-dried on raised beds for up to 15 days, allowing the flavors to fully develop. The result is a medium-bodied coffee with sweet, floral notes of orange and blackcurrant, delivering a juicy and vibrant cup.
Kangiri FCS is more than a cooperative; it’s a community. Beyond coffee production, the society invests in sustainability, modernizing drying methods, and empowering farmers through education. This commitment ensures not only exceptional coffee but also a brighter future for its members and the surrounding community.
Every sip of Kangiri FCS coffee tells a story of passion, resilience, and the harmonious flavors of Kenya’s highlands—a truly unforgettable experience for coffee lovers.
