The Los Nogales farm in Colombia has a rich history and a significant impact on the coffee industry. Started by Ricardo and Concepción Hernandez, the farm has been passed down through five generations of the Hernandez family. Ricaurte Hernandez, their youngest son, became a coffee leader and achieved great success in the industry.

In the 1990s, the family briefly switched to cattle ranching but eventually returned to their beloved coffee plantation in Laboyá. In 2005, the Los Nogales farm won first place in Colombia's prestigious "Cup of Excellence" contest, revolutionizing the coffee world and establishing a reputation for specialty coffee.

Today, the Los Nogales farm serves as a research and innovation center, focusing on biotechnology and technology to enhance coffee production. Oscar Hernandez and his family have built a company that not only produces quality coffee but also promotes sustainable practices and supports the well-being of coffee growers.

The Hernandez women have played a significant role in the farm's success, with Angie Hernandez contributing as an industrial engineer and Olga Hernandez becoming a leader in the Federation of Coffee Growers, advocating for the rights of peasants.

The latest generation, represented by Mariana Diaz Muñoz, Ricaurte Hernandez's granddaughter, continues the family's legacy in the coffee industry. With a focus on education, innovation, and sustainability, the Hernandez family strives to ensure that the coffee culture thrives for generations to come.

The Los Nogales farm stands as a beacon of innovation and social responsibility, bridging the gap between tradition and modernity in the countryside. The Hernandez family continues to honor their father's legacy and contribute to the world of coffee.
